Joe Root, A god-gifted batsman, started his official career for the Yorkshire Second team in 2007 with a fifty. Since then, there was no looking back as Root’s meteoric flourishing form continues. After nine years of his test debutants, Root completed his 10,000 runs with a massive century Against New Zealand. This elite club was started by Sunil Gavaskar in 1987, who completed his 10000 runs. And as a fourteenth batsman, Root enters this elite club with a bang. Roots become the youngest batsman to achieve this milestone, along with Sir Alastair Cook. Both completed their 10000 runs at the same age of 31 years and 157 days. Interesting, not?
The debut of a god-gifted batsman
Roots Test debut was on 13 December 2012 Against India at Nagpur. To complete his career 10000 runs, Root played 118 matches (218 innings). The Root is the only second player in England after Alastair Cook to achieve this.

Can Root be an all-time run-getter in the test?
If Root can hold the current form of his batting and play 4-5 more years, many greats think he will surely be the most run-scorer of all time. Though there was much possibility for Sir Alastair Cook to achieve that milestone, Cook took retirement at 33. The possibility of top run-scorer over Tendulkar is waving at Root. Now It’s Root’s legacy to be on the right track to get that title.
